Maybe this is a problem because I've used a clone ESP32 WROOM but I had problems with 1.7.3, 1.6.3, and 1.6.2 firmwares when using them in an external dongle for a PAL N64. I'm currently using the v1.5.1 firmware which works great on both PAL and NTSCJ N64s. I did not test v1.6 or v1.6.1 but I assume one of those breaks PAL N64 compatibility going forward.

-Clone ESP32 (programmed with a CP2102)
-Tested with 10k, 22k, and no resistor between 3.3v and EN on the ESP32
-Tested with both a stock PAL and RGB modified PAL N64s
-Tested with a PAL retail game and an Everdrive
-Tested in port 2 whilst an OEM pad was used in port 1
-NTSCJ N64 worked fine with the latest and the aforementioned firmwares

Unrelated but thank you so much for your hard work, Darth. This is an amazing project.

Fantastic works on both PAL and NTSCJ. You're the best, Darth.
