In the Objectives where its expected of the students to describe the advantages of using programming vs. completing repetitive tasks by hand, there its the end of the lesson. There should be some clarity about the concepts. As of the content the students are obliged to go somewhere on and read about programming and its use.

Hi @Jaredabera. Thanks for the report. I agree that the stated objective is not pursued. At the moment, the quick and dirty solution would be to remove the objective. Then, add that objective along with an explanation back -- all in a single Pull Request.

I pushed a sample code that parses the output file of the top command to extract the load average after 1, 5 and 15 minutes. The out put is written to a .csv files. This Describes the advantages of using programming vs. completing repetitive tasks by hand. My data file was 121Mb but I reduced it to 41 very long lines. Obviously, the data is not an ecological theme but if you have a raw file that is in line with the theme, I can adjust the script to parse it. This could be an example after functions and data structures.

It seems the mentioned objective is still not being addressed in the lesson, so this issue is still open to be resolved.
