Recommendation from students in Instructor Training on 10/25/2019. In my opinion, Telling people the reason why factors are important and how they are used would clarify why they are necessary to learn.

Thanks @jborycz for the suggestion! I do also feel there could be a bit more to situating the importance of factors from a data perspective. Although factors are often seen in survey data, they have far more broad applications. Thus, I feel the explanation of a factor could be situated more broadly within the context of categorical data.

Thanks for your additions! I did some minor tweaking of the language, but I hope you feel that the end product leaves learners with a better understanding of what a factor is.
