Command line autocompletion for global options / commands / options

I'd really like to see autocomplete for zsh & bash for global options / commands / options.

@Hobbsee the link @calestar posted should handle bash completion of global commands and that's about it. Granted, that is not much.

I am not very good at writing completion scripts (which is why the support is so paltry), but it would be simple enough to expand the help command to output useful stuff for completion. If you could give more info about what GLI-powered apps could ideally get on input and provide on output to make completion easy to create, that might be a good place to start
