Hello again,
As stated in the README.md, auto-routing is not yet implemented.
The company I work for is very interested in this feature and would be willing to invest person-hours on implementing it.
Is somebody working already on this feature, that I could contact in order to coordinate our efforts?

Hi Alexis,

We have auto-routing on our list, but it's not planned for the short period, therefore it would be ok for us if you and your team would like to contribute adding it.
We just have to keep in contact to define eventual interactions/interfaces between the core services and your extensions. We may also discuss upfront your design for the auto-routing service.

Umberto,

thank you for the reply and the willingness to cooperate. Your guidance is extremely welcome in all the stages of the project.
We are aiming to implement the functionality of dcm4chee2 as described here: http://www.dcm4che.org/confluence/display/ee2/Forward+Service I'll try to come up with an initial design.
I'm not really familiar with the dcm4chee code, but dcm4chee-proxy could be a good starting point.

best regards
Alexis

Hi Alexis,
The archiving service can actually be configured to do forwarding to external archives.

This archiving is done based on receiving objects for storage.

The proxy is not a good starting point unless you want to duplicate code and I would not try to duplicate code that already exists in the archive.

If you need help in configuration please don't hesitate to ask.

Kind Regards,

So is it possible to have forwarding rules like the ones described here ( http://www.dcm4che.org/confluence/display/ee2/Forward+Service ) using the dcm4chee-arc-cdi?

If so, could you please point me to some information on how to use this feature?

best regards
Alexis

It is possible to forward using archiving rules which are activated by a specific calling aet and configured yo archive to other archive aets thus forward objects the same way as the dedicated forwarding rule would do except that u have to create an archiving rule for each calling aet while still u can configure multiple destinations.
