I'd love to see this be an official add-on (move to ddev/ddev-opensearch), as long as:

  1. It has a committed maintainer
  2. Has meaningful tests

Does it have a future?

@cmuench if you (or your org) are able to maintain this, I think it would be great to get it really dialed in and promote it, as so many people want to use a reliable elasticsearch replacement.

@rfay I will discuss that internally.

@rfay Sadly there are less people interested to maintaine. This does not mean that we cannot do it. The effort to update this repo is not very high. If you want we can move it to ddev repo. I did some fixes for the tests last month. Currently it's working well.

I think we can find a maintainer. There are a couple of opensearch add-ons but it seems like yours would be the best candidate for promotion.

FYI, ddev-opensearch is number 12 in the top-12 list of DDEV add-ons.

Thanks! I think we can move it if you just give me and @stasadev admin privs on this repo. Otherwise we (normally) have to have you move it first to an intermediate org, but since you're on an org that may work. It's harder when coming from a personal account.

Sorry, I guess that's not enough. @stasadev will follow up with instructions about how to move it to the ddevl intermediate repository (he'll give you admin privs over there). Then we'll move it to ddev. GitHub has done superbly in supporting redirection i these situations.

@cmuench, moved this repo to ddev org and sent an invite - I forgot to check who else was admin here, please invite them as well.

This repo needs an update for README.md, and I will review the full repo and create a PR if something needs to be adjusted.
