The Problem/Issue/Bug:

Recently, my network was offline and I was unable to access the internet. No problems, I though, I develop locally in WSL. Unfortunately, I was getting DNS errors when attempting to access my site from Windows. I looked in the DDEV documents but couldn't see an obvious reference to my problem.

Once I found a solution, I did a search of the docs for hosts, but didn't see anything.

How this PR Solves The Problem:

  • adds specific instructions for Windows browsers, to a WSL DDEV website when Windows is offline.

Automated Testing Overview:

NA

This general issue is one of the biggest confusions about WSL2. It affects lots of things besides offline. I think in future revs of the docs we'll recommend running the browser (and IDE) inside WSL2, since that's super easy to do in upcoming Windows versions. I've been using that for a while.
