I wonder if it is posible to trigger the eraser like supernote does:
gesture

If you also need this feature, you can also submit a request to the official wish list, like @yyamagit does:

I would recommend putting in a feature request to reMarkable themselves. This might not be easy to add here.

The official system is too much weak in A LOT of features for reading & writing. In my workflow the remarkable tablet is quite useless without this ddva hacks. The official software does not even has a contents(in sidebar) of PDF & ePub books.

I wonder if they are still working on adding more features to their system.

I also want this feature. I've submitted a feature request from my perspective.
If anyone else wants this feature, please submit a request as well.

Feature Request Form:
https://support.remarkable.com/s/contactsupport/wishes-and-ideas

Here's the content of my request:

Subject: Proposal for Gesture-based Switching between Writing and Eraser Tools

Description:
I strongly recommend the introduction of a gesture-based switching feature between the writing and eraser tools to further enhance the user experience of the Remarkable paper tablet.

Use Case:
When users maximize the drawing area of the Remarkable paper by hiding the toolbar and taking notes, the ability to seamlessly switch between writing and erasing using just gestures would significantly improve workflow efficiency.

Benefits of this Feature:

  • Eliminates the need to redisplay the toolbar, allowing users to focus on their writing experience.
  • Gesture-based switching offers intuitive and swift operations.
  • Enhances usability and efficiency for both existing and new users.

Remarks:
I am aware of the Marker Plus feature, which allows erasing simply by flipping the pen. However, for users like me who use the Remarkable paper v1, or those who prefer not to flip the pen, gesture-based switching is highly appealing. I hope this proposal contributes to the further evolution of the Remarkable paper tablet.

The following is true only if you use the remarkable-stylus hack, also from ddvk:

As this wasn't mentioned before I might add that using a pen with a button like the Lamy EMR will give you the possibility to use the lasso erase feature by simply pressing the button (which sits under the index finger thumb, the way I hold it).
It's not gesture-based but it might be close to what you're looking for.

Remarkable stylus hack: https://github.com/ddvk/remarkable-stylus

Edit: Apparently this project also enables the button feature and doesn't depend on remarkable-hacks: https://github.com/mb1986/rm-hacks It's been developed alongside the discussion in #496

Thanks for the introduction to remarkable-stylus hack.
This is not a gesture-based method, but it is close to what I am looking for.

There is one thing I would like to know.
I have a remarkable paper that is version 1. Can the remarkable-stylus hack be applied to version 1 as well?

I do not have a Lamy EMR pen and am not familiar with it, so I would like to consider which Lamy EMR pen to buy.

@yyamagit rm1 and Lamy Al-star work fine together for me. As the ddvk rm-hacks are still on firmware 2.x you'd need to use the stylus-hacks together with the mb1986 hacks on firmware 3, which is my current setup, that's working perfectly well.
