Look for the dexcctl.conf file in ~/.dexcctl (or appdata(dexc, false)) instead of ~/.dexc.
dexcctl will also look for rpc.cert in .dexcctl if not specified on the command line, but if it is not found there, it will check in ~/.dexc.
