We have investigated this several times and found k8s RBAC not-quite-complete, and not a simple replacement for Workflow's existing users & perms mechanisms. Nonetheless, this is something to keep in mind: we would like Workflow to play nice with existing RBAC if possible, even if that behavior needs to be hidden behind an experimental feature flag.
