As noted by Dan Ross on 4/27/2015

Data pulled back from API calls were checked against

  • Prominent Plans offered in Arlington, VA (CareFirst is missing)
  • List of plans offered for state of TX (Should be > 4)

Verified that there's a potential discrepancy in Plan Finder API. Contacted Health Data Lead for help in finding data owner.

Still working on getting response from program owners for Plan Finder within CMS's CCIIO group. Unfortunately, they haven't been responsive for the past 2+ weeks.

Wiki has been updated with info regarding PlanFinder: http://hhs.ddod.us/wiki/Use_Case_28

Short answer -- PlanFinder is not meant to comprehensive search of all healthcare plans. It is only intended for off-exchange plans, and even then it may be missing plans for a number of reasons.

Received POC from the HC.gov team. May want to confirm some assumptions and update documentation.

Source PUF added on wiki; also confirmed via HC.gov team that data returned from PlanFinder API is the same as that returned by the front end website.
