There is only one way to create a missing note from a link--position the cursor over a broken link and press Ctrl + Enter.

Describe the solution you'd like

I'd like to be able to create a missing note by left-clicking on a link while holding down the Ctrl key.

Describe alternatives you've considered

An alternative would be to set noAutoCreateOnDefinition to false, but this creates a new note on hover, not on click.

We'll track this in our backlog 👍🏼
This is a feature frequently requested so I'm sure we will get to it in the near future 🙂
