Information

VIM version

NVIM v0.3.4
Build type: Release

Operating System: Mac OS Mojave

What went wrong

This may be specific to neovim, since I can't reproduce it in vim 8.

When using g:ale_list_vertical = 1, the quickfix window opens to the left and steals focus.

Reproducing the bug

  1. Configure ale to use vertical lists, e.g.
let g:ale_open_list = 1
let g:ale_list_vertical = 1
  1. Open a file that has an error found by ale, or create an error found by ale. Then you can observe the issue.

You might have to change your splitright setting to open vertical lists on the right.
