Description

On each card for the search results, when there is an address, phone number and email for a contact, the links are all placed close to each other without a break. This is a lot of visual information/link text that could overwhelm users.

Recommended action

This is a collection of links, but it’s not like the quick links pattern which is reserved for hub pages. I would recommend creating more visual distinction between the links. There are a number of ways to do this, including but not limited to:

  • including phone/email/mail icons (outside of the link text);
  • increasing spacing between links; and/or
  • not linking the entire address (use link text like ”Get directions” instead)

The check-in app uses icons for phone and physical address:

Icons are currently not showing due to a bug. Looks like the team is actively working on this - initial issue is department-of-veterans-affairs/vets-design-system-documentation#2353 and I see some open tickets referenced there.
