Support of sending picture #133
Comments
Not currently, no. |
hmm... I though it wasn't going to happen to I closed but okay. |
I am only one man that happens to be in university, so I have very limited time most of the year. When I get free time, bugs take priority. We will get to it eventually. |
Of course, I understand that |
Still no support for images? What a pity :( |
Disa.im supports this in their plugin for Facebook Messenger; perhaps something could be ported from their source? |
Their facebook plugin isn't open source. But we don't need that, figuring out how to the android app does it is the easiest part. |
Receiving pictures does not work also So whats the limitation here? Understanding how to do this via facebook? Does Pidgin support image previews/thumbnails in chats? Edit: New issue opened #255 |
This ticket is about sending pictures. Receiving pictures should work, please open a separate ticket if it fails for you. The limitation for this ticket is time / interest. |
before I go running around trying to arbitrarily patch stuff, may I ask if the following fix for insert image in xmpp could be useful? https://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/10056 |
Nope. Facebook doesn't use html |
That's a shame. I've been using this plugin for a few months now. Love it! Just wish I could insert image. It's the one thing that pertinently lacks (certainly with no tone of criticism). If I was better with this kind of development I would love to attempt contribution. Like many of us, only so many hours in the day to learn and apply. Thank you so much for this plugin! It's liberating. |
@ZatsuneNoMokou Why are you closing this? Has it been implemented? |
I don't need it anymore |
You can click the 'unsubscribe' button on the right side if you're no longer interested, but keep this open. |
I'd still love to see this added._ |

Here we go again... |
Weird lol. It would be wonderful if someone did implement this but I'm not holding my breath, the Facebook API is such a moving target |
Is it possible to support sending picture or files?
