One Travis test is failing but I don't have time to fix right now, unfortunately. Would be great to get this merged before the 18.6 software release. |

Tests are only failing on Python 2. Do you still need to support that? If not, I recommend using Astropy 2 and Python 3.5 & 3.6. |

Trivial hack to address the immediate need (for the SV data challenge) documented by #85 but we may want a more thoughtful solution.
