Have a look at #122 for the approvements of all contributors for this license change.

I don't think we need to zlib licence sample code. For the other platforms we've just public domained the samples but perhaps it's worth looking for a more explicit "do what you like with this code, that's what it's for" licence.

So we need a new poll for the license of the sample codes? Remember that the samples are GPL right now and all contributors settled to zlib for the whole project / there was no extra vote for the samples.

Also a serious question: What are these samples for other platforms you're talking about? I had a look at https://github.com/devkitPro/switch-examples and https://github.com/devkitPro/nds-examples but both fail to state any license which, according to github, means they are properitary: You're under no obligation to choose a license. However, without a license, the default copyright laws apply, meaning that you retain all rights to your source code and no one may reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from your work (Source: https://help.github.com/en/github/creating-cloning-and-archiving-repositories/licensing-a-repository#choosing-the-right-license ). In case you accidentially mixed up no license with public domain you might want to change that asap.

The 84 commits behind the repostitory that was forked from https://github.com/switchbrew/switch-examples should have told you that you weren't looking at the canonical source.

Sample code should never carry a restrictive license.

I'd also appreciate a lot less snark when you're interacting with us.

Please handle this license change for yourself; I'm out.

Don't worry, I won't interact with you again.
