App was working fine until today. Now users receive the response "You are not a participant of that session" when attempting to vote.

We have removed the app and reinstalled to see if that would do anything. It didn't work.

This is a private channel and the issue just started today for us.

@nicholasgorgone-nbcuni what is your slack team name or id?

Hmmm, it seems Slack sends different User IDs for different actions. When you add people on the modal and hit submit button, all the participant User IDs are like WNXXXXXX, that's weird because Slack User IDs start with the letter U. However, when someone clicks a button to vote, Slack sends different User ID, which is like UXXXXXX (the normal format). So the application thinks that you're not a participant of that topic.

I've researched a little bit, User IDs starting with W are just happening in enterprise-enabled teams. I don't have any enterprise slack accounts to debug this. However, let me check what I can do. Thanks for reporting.

Slack was automatically trying to convert new WXXX user ids to old UXXX ones for not breaking old apps. After reading the docs, I've just realized that there is a special switch for this translation.

I've just turned it off. So all the user ids will be in the new WXXX format, which should fix your issue. Can you please try again @nicholasgorgone-nbcuni ?

I'm not sure if the change is applied immediately, maybe I should submit the app to Slack all over again 😕

@dgurkaynak It seems to be working now. I will monitor it for a few days and close the issue if nobody else sees it occurring. Thanks for your help
