Description

The TubeSkipper Extension is a handy tool designed to enhance your YouTube viewing experience by automatically skipping skippable ads. Say goodbye to those pesky ads that interrupt your videos, and enjoy uninterrupted content seamlessly. It is not an ad blocker

Installation (on chromium based browsers)

1. Clone the extension repository or download.
2. Open Chrome and navigate to chrome://extensions/.
3. Enable Developer Mode by toggling the switch in the upper-right corner.
4. Click on the "Load unpacked" button located at the top-left corner of the extensions page.
5. Select the directory where you cloned or downloaded the extension repository.
6. Confirm the installation when prompted.

Installation (on firefox)

1. Clone the extension repository or download.
2. Open Firefox and type about:debugging in the address bar, then press Enter.
3. Click on "This Firefox" in the left sidebar.
4. Click on the "Load Temporary Add-on" button.
5. Navigate to the directory where you cloned or downloaded the extension, then select the manifest.json file.
6. Confirm the installation when prompted.

How to Run Locally

Follow these steps to run the TubeSkipper on your local machine:

1. Clone the Repository:

   git clone https://github.com/dikshantrajput/skip-yt-ad

2. Run the server:

    npm run dev

3. Make any change and just save. Your extension should refresh:
4. Build the project:

    npm run build

Usage

1. Once installed, the extension will automatically start working whenever you watch a YouTube video with a skippable ad.
2. Sit back and enjoy your uninterrupted YouTube experience as the extension takes care of skipping the ads for you.

Compatibility

This extension is compatible with Google Chrome(Chromium-based browsers) and Firefox.
