NOTE from #2716

We need a system to allow pytest to run test on cdef files. In this file, cpdef are used just for the tests. This is not necessary. I suppose we need test as pyx files. Something to explore

Hey @skoudoro, can you explain what the line means - "In this file, cpdef are used just for the tests" - which file do you mean?
Also in conclusion, are you saying we need pyx test files?
