Notices are problematic on certain IRC clients and lead to bans if the Matrix channel is bridged to IRC.

I'm new to Discourse plugin development but tested the patch on our instance and a bot on Freenode, and it seemed to work fine. (The downstream task is Wikimedia T201273.) |
