Inital spec_helper.rb. Add spec_helper.rb to pattern. Skip some examples if using JRuby. Drop Ruby 2.2.x testing, update other versions. Use read_array_of_uint64 only if necessary.

Possible solution to #77. I think it works, just want to verify.
Also, the specs need to be updated for JRuby. Right now they're bombing on fork.
