Describe the bug

I upgraded muvia git clone.

After installation, mu init, mu index I can start mu4e and see the headers file, but when select a message and hit Return to read it, I get the following error message:

error in process filter: [mu4e] Error 32811: parameter :rename expects type symbol, but got number in call (view :docid 72485 :msgid nil :mark-as-read t :rename 1)

When I use M-x mu4e-view-raw-message, I can see the corresponding raw message.

Environment

  • mu for emacs version 1.86
  • GNU Emacs 28.1 (build 1, x86_64-apple-darwin18.7.0, NS appkit-1671.60 Version 10.14.6 (Build 18G95))
    of 2022-05-11
  • MacOS Big Sur 11.6.7

Likely, you have mu4e-change-filenames-when-moving set to 1? It should be t instead.

That did the trick. Thank you!

As seen in #2310, we should test for non-nil for some parameters rather
then expect them to be literally nil or t.

Also update some docstrings.
