Hi Crouton Users,

I am currious to know if anyone had gotten the MTP to work with Crouton? (via USB)

Been trying to follow this guide on XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2055563 (General Linux guide) but no luck so far.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I found a way to FTP into my phone via USB or WiFi now. Works, but still would like to know if MTP is possible?

Thanks!

Edit: here is a link to my blog showing how to FTP was done:

The "disk" group id (GID) almost certainly does not match Chromium OS's. I'm also not entirely sure Chromium OS even uses the disk group. Among a million other potential issues. How far have you gotten, and what are the error messages?

I pretty much followed instructions on this site (http://www.chromebook-linux.com/2011/12/connect-a-galaxy-nexus-to-your-chromebook-with-gnulinux.html) Then when I try to browse the folder, I get "Failed to open directory "mnt". Error when getting information for file '/mnt/SG3': Transport endpoint is not connected."

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S3 device, and trying to mount it as /mnt/SG3

It's possible that FUSE isn't working properly with the chroot, but I don't see any reason it shouldn't be able to work. Not sure what to poke at either, unfortunately. Keep us posted if you figure anything out.

I've given up on this a while back. Using ES File Folder's FTP feature on Android and connecting via Filezilla on Chromebook to transfer files now.

Okay. Updating GVFS to this might help, but closing anyway.
