Ah, this seems like a solid compromise while we work out something better (which I'm very interested in doing; we just need to work out some way to ensure that the same URL will reasonably be the same tarball until it's no longer supported, so that we don't have builds changing just because a tarball was swapped out -- ie, the same reason we prefer git commits to tags or branches in the manifest files here 😄).

there are some additions being made to koji, so this untar-retar by the
middleman is hopefully just a one off.

Well, there is a lot of sexy in us consuming the docker save tarballs directly, so let's not assume off the table yet, but I'm glad we're moving forward otherwise! ❤️
