In Docker 26.0.0, I can still get #253 with my pet PS1 prompt.
Without looking at the code, I'm going to guess that something fails to properly determine column when given ANSI escape sequences?
Steps To Reproduce
docker run --rm -itu root debian:stable-slim /bin/bash -l
export PS1='\e]0;\u@\h\a\[\e[49m\]\[\e[01;34m\]/\n\[\e[39m\](\u@\h)\[\e[01;34m\]$\e[0;0m '
echo "Oh freddled gruntbuggly, thy micturations are to me as plurdled gabbleblotchits on a lurgid bee. Groop, I implore thee, my foonting turlingdromes and hooptiously drangle me with crinkly bindlewurdles, or I will rend thee in the gobberwarts with my blurglecruncheon. See if I don't."
Do you have more details about what you're seeing, and what the expected output would be? (Perhaps a screenshot if that's easier to demonstrate the issue)
Also I notice you're using docker run for the reproducer (which would not be directly related to compose).
