Description

Since version 4.26.0 huge pages support is not available in the kernel.
hugetlbfs is not available on /proc/filesystems

Reproduce

docker run --rm -it --privileged ubuntu
$ cat /proc/filesystems

Expected behavior

hugetlbfs should be available under /proc/filesystems

Sorry for the inconvenience, we had to remove CONFIG_CGROUP_HUGETLB from the kernel config, because it causes issues with many PHP programs.

Could you share the use case that you have that requires this config? Maybe we can help.

My use case was to use Exasol in a Docker container, which does not work anymore.
In general, from my point of view, most databases (Informix, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Db2 ...) are using Huge Pages, e.g.

Hi everyone! Turns out we found how to re-enable Huge Pages, keep Transparent Huge Pages and still fix the php issue. This should ship in Docker Desktop 4.27.
