WSL 2 on Windows 10 Professional and Docker... A mismatch? #7482
Comments
From https://docs.docker.com/docker-for-windows/wsl/#prerequisites:
But I'm puzzled. I'm not sure how you can have installed WSL 2 on Windows 1909. |
Is that WSL 1 or WSL 2? PS I notice that the required Windows version is also shown next to the checkbox! |
Now working on checking and kicking wsl2 on win 10 pro. It reports as loaded but is not. WSL 1 is running. Sorry my bad. Windows is a good con artist 😄 |

Windows 10 pro ver.1909 build 18363.900
WSL 2 installed. Ubuntu and Alpine installed.
Docker desktop 2.3.0.3 (45519) stable. Engine: 19.03.8
Docker Desktop / Settings / General / Checkbox "Use the WSL 2 based engine." is not enabled.
Please if this is a normal behaviour (which means in Win 10 pro it is not possible to use WSL 2 and docker together)
Update your documentation accordingly. One minute for you, man years of cumulative effect on users.
Thanks in advance, keep up the good work.
