today I noticed that the patch won't work for the latest beta. Will an update be available soon?

I know some people mentioned a workaround by using the old files from 10.10.1

Hi, I assume you are referencing OS X 10.10.2 beta 1 and CAT 1.12, is that correct? Could you please provide details on the issues and your configuration (e.g. system diagnostic output)?
CAT 1.12 works fine on my MBA 2011 with 10.10.2.

Hi, I think you misunderstood me. Actually the patched went till the last step. After rebooting I can also see the checkbox for handoff. But actually this switch doesn't do anything.

Ok, if you see the handoff icon in the System Preferences, then it's an indicator that your system considers Continuity as active. Therefore the tool has done its job - to activate Continuity on your system - and anything beyond that point is currently not within the scope of this tool.

At this stage, what usually solves your symptoms is following the steps described in Apple's KB article (also shown at the end of the activation with CAT):

  • Go to the Wi-Fi icon at the top of your screen and turn on Wi-Fi if necessary.
  • Make sure your Mac and iOS devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi on your iOS device and compare the name of the network with the Wi-Fi network on your Mac.
  • Go to the Bluetooth icon at the top of your screen and turn on Bluetooth if necessary.
In System Preferences > General, select “Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices.” If you don't see this setting, your Mac may not support Handoff.
  • Go to System Preferences, and sign out and then sign in again to your iCloud account.

It can take a moment before your iOS device and Mac do the Continuity handshake.
