-mdoc manpages are a drop-in replacement for -man manpages. They're supported out of the box on any system that formats manpages with either mandoc or groff; this includes Linux, OpenBSD, FreeBSD, Mac OS X, Minix, Illumos, and probably more.
-mdoc manpages are semantic. OpenBSD's man(1) program leverages this to allow semantic search, jumping between tags within a page, and more. (Practical UNIX Manuals is a good document covering manpage formats.)
