What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Select some text containing (at least) links in Firefox browser
2. Press Copy
3. Paste the selected text into a Note

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
1. Unfortunately neither the links nor the formatting in the pasted text
are retained
2. When pressing Past Special from Edit menu only the Paste unformatted
text is seen

What version are you using? On what operating system?
1.7.8.1 last Win XP SP3 (Firefox 3.5.9)

Please provide any additional information below.

I can confirm this. OneNote copies the formatting okay. Internet Explorer 8
works with KeyNote NF, but Firefox does not.

The difference between IE and Firefox is that the first one offers RTF besides
HTML when copying to clipboard, but Firefox not. You can see it easily from MS
Word: Edit -> Paste Special...
As KeyNote didn't recognize HTML format, then only could use plain or
unformatted text.
MS Word or OneNote are converting HTML to RTF without problem.

Implemented in revision r168

Now we can also paste HTML source from selected text in browsers using Paste
Special...

Remember that web clips can be pasted in plain text configuring the option
WCPasteAsText in keynote.ini (section [Clipboard capture]). PasteAsText
controls Clipboard capture, and this one can also be configured through Tools
-> Configuration Options... -> Advanced -> Clipboard capture

Daniel

I have just released a new version of KeyNote NF: 1.7.9 Beta 4

Could you verify and confirm if the issues are correctly resolved?
Thanks
Daniel

Hi!

Thanks, to review and finish this and also
http://code.google.com/p/keynote-nf/issues/detail?id=322 issues. I really liked
your clever free program and truly welcome those resolutions, due to those were
critical problems for me then to cause abandoning its using. However, since
some years elapsed then, I also need free time to pick up this threads again to
verify and confirm the changes.
Thanks again for your work,
iplnts

I'm observing several problems:

  • It seems that the option "Paste as Plain Text" is being ignored. Testing with XP and IE, it always paste web clip as RTF. In W10 always paste as plain text ¿?
  • Pasting a previously copied image from a web page doesn't work (in 1.7.8 and earlier it worked, at least when just the image was pasted).

This issue was included in 1.7.9 Beta 4.
Issue #523, #532 and #533 include related enhacenments, in 1.7.9 Beta 5.
Problem with image is depending on RichEdit version and will be treated from other specific issue.
