The net worth can differ from the total value shown on Firefly. I have multiple accounts, but I don't show all accounts on the front page. You can select which accounts you want to show on the graph/front page in the Firefly settings. If I enable all accounts, the net worth in Waterfly shows the correct value, if I hide some accounts the exact value of those accounts will be missing.
I think it's a very cool feature to actually query all the assets and liabilities and sum them up into a graph like you're doing here, so I would love if that query could be tweaked to include all accounts.
My personal use case would be some savings account with a static balance. If I would show those, they would clutter up all the graphs on the front page and would make fluctuations on accounts with smaller balances harder to read. But they should definitely be considered for net worth.

Currently no API call exists to get this data for all accounts over a date range. Requested a change to the API upstream at firefly-iii/firefly-iii#8022
