Anyone know whether this is again going to be a designated DSSG project for 2014?

I thought the title of this recent blog post, Divvy Part 2: A Crystal Ball for Rebalancing, might suggest as much.

FWIW, I think it would be great to re-activate it as a focused project given the availability of the 2013 Chicago trip data made available as part of Divvy Data Challenge, not to mention the potential input/contributions from the many data challenge participants.

Note that the Chicago DataViz meetup is hosting a Divvy Data Challenge Show & Tell.

Cross referencing issue #70.

@joyrexus I'm not sure if Divvy is going to be a 2014 project, but @PlusTheMonk and @breannam are working on turning it into a KDD Paper.

I'm also hoping to get the resources needed to run the system moved onto Midway, a UChicago cluster in order to do some more analysis. However, the move has not happened yet.

@hunterowens I know the RCC folks. If you want help in getting some dedicated storage and scratch space for this project, just let me know. I think they'd love to host/assist a showcase project and I think this fits the bill.

@joyrexus We have storage and scratch, however, they've been holding off on giving us space on the new PostgresQL instances.

FYI, NYC released data for July 2013 to February 2014. They're excluding the last couple of days of May, and all of June.
