Where can I find the unminimized, unoptimized JS code? Is it publicly available?

Proprietary solutions require a lot more trust as the end-user has no way of knowing what’s included in the code. Therefore proprietary solutions are not viable in the crypto world. Being open source is a must for crypto projects.

Being open source (at least to me) means access to actual (unminimized, unoptimized and unobfuscated) source code. As well as access to meaningful diffs, such that insight can be had about the development process.

Doing this might also make the project more attractive to contributors.

I agree. This repo is used for hosting the website on GitHub pages, and isn't meant as a way to contribute. I've enabled issues as a transition move.

I'm sure a lot more people will start contributing when we release it on Github :) This is kept private right now so I can finish my original vision on it without having to have an open decision making. 0.7 focuses a lot on stability and if it's working as intended we will probably open source during this version.

I see, then I suggest moving the code to a gh-pages branch and using that as the GitHub Pages publishing source as explained here, in order to avoid any confusion.

Looking forward to version 0.7 and eventually the release of the source code!

Unfortunately - I cannot justify providing my Steem login credentials to a platform which does not openly present it's authentication code.

Plus one for this. I really enjoy dtube I think it will be Steem's killer app.

Would love to run a local copy and experiment. Interested trying to make a recommended video widget on the side for my personal use.

Also I saw you in an interview I hope your house renovations in France are going well.

So many people here would like to contribute, maybe open a newsletter for a signal when the unminified code is opened, or wiki page that people can PR their username to.

Here we are!
Over the past few days, I've cleaned up the code a lot, fixed the deps hickups and wrote a good readme to get started with development, and I've just moved the unminified repo from BitBucket to Github!

https://github.com/dtube/dtube

I plan to organize a roadmap and more soon, but meanwhile if you'd like to start helping feel free to reach out on discord directly.
