Conceal is an encrypted folder management tool for Linux.
This the Google Summer of Code 2007 project of Kévin Dunglas,
mentored by Jani Monoses of Ubuntu.

This is a BETA software pulished ONLY FOR TEST purpose !
It can DESTROY your data.
Test it only on BACKUPED directories.

Please send us report using our issues tracker at code.google.com. Don't forget
to attach the traceback (everything displayed in the terminal window).
Please join to your report a TAR archive (compressed with gzip or bzip2) of the
directory you have tried to encrypt.

To install a component just go into his directory and type as root:
# python setup.py install

Command: conceal

Usage: conceal [options]

Options:
  --version             show program's version number and exit
  -h, --help            show this help message and exit
  -e DIRECTORY, --encrypt=DIRECTORY
                        encrypt DIRECTORY
  -c DIRECTORY, --close=DIRECTORY
                        close DIRECTORY
  -o DIRECTORY, --open=DIRECTORY
                        open encrypted DIRECTORY
  -i IDLE, --idle=IDLE  automaticaly close after IDLE time
  -d DIRECTORY, --decrypt=DIRECTORY
                        decrypt DIRECTORY
  -p DIRECTORY, --change-password=DIRECTORY
                        change the password of DIRECTORY
  -l, --clean           Clean directories list
  -s, --stdin           Get input from stdin



Examples :

# Create some samples
dunglas@kirk:~/Projects/conceal$ mkdir test
dunglas@kirk:~/Projects/conceal$ echo "Bonjour" > test/bonjour
dunglas@kirk:~/Projects/conceal$ echo "Aurevoir" > test/aurevoir

# Encrypt a directory
dunglas@kirk:~/Projects/conceal$ ./conceal --encrypt test
Password: azerty

[...]

# List the content of the directory unmounted
dunglas@kirk:~/Projects/conceal$ ls test

# Open the encrypted directory
dunglas@kirk:~/Projects/conceal$ ./conceal --open test
Password: azerty

# List the content of the mounted encrypted directory
dunglas@kirk:~/Projects/conceal$ ls test
aurevoir  bonjour  lost+found

# Close it
dunglas@kirk:~/Projects/conceal$ ./conceal --close test
# List if content
dunglas@kirk:~/Projects/conceal$ ls test

# Decrypt it
dunglas@kirk:~/Projects/conceal$ ./conceal --decrypt test
Password: azerty
aurevoir  bonjour  lost+found
