Hi,

im working on cattle rnaseq data (whole blood) and wondering whether i could use the methodology for gene deconvolution...do i need to build a signature matrix bovine specific?

Thanks,
Laura

Hi,

Yes, I don't think that human and cattle are similar enough to get reliable results with orthologs.

Note that the xCell pipeline is a bit more complicated than just a signature matrix.

Best,
Dvir

Dear dr. Aran
We have a similar question.
Do you expect that your method produces reliable results when it is applied on data from more closely related species (e.g. mice and other (supra)primates) after mapping the genes to the human orthologs?
We've obtained a few interesting results and are wondering whether they can be trusted.

Kind regards
Arne
