We have a basic Breville Rice Cooker that we bought 13 years ago but still works fine.
It lives on the counter in the @home kitchen and is easily operated with a single button.
My favourite kind of appliance is a single-purpose works every time 1-button kind. ❤️

Wholegrain

We buy Organic Wholegrain rice from both Aldi and Bio Brassica (the local organic supermarket)
The ratio I use is 1:3. i.e. 1 cup of rice to 3 cups of cold water.
I usually add olive oil in the bottom of the pan before pouring the rice and turn on the rice cooker before adding the water just so it starts to heat up. I also add a tablespoon of sea salt if making rice for adults.

I usually make 500g of rice at a time. This is one bag of the Aldi Organic rice.
Or half the bag (sold as 1kg) from Bio Brassica:

I keep a handy measuring cup in the cupboard above the rice cooker. But any cup will work just keep the ratio consistent.

White

When making white rice - of which there are many types - we tend to use "Carolino" (Oryza sativa L.
The ratio I use: 1:2 i.e. 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water. 1 tablespoon of salt.

Other Ingredients?

In this photo you can see the rice cooker, wall socket switch and single-button on the rice cooker.
In this instance I added grated carrots (~300g) to the rice and it turned out delicious.
