Validating the attached file (source) with DPFManager 3.5.1 using the default (Baseline TIFF 6.0) profile raises error IFD-0019 "Invalid Bits per Sample" in IFD1.
This file is a very simple bilevel (black/white) TIFF file that does not have an explicit BitsPerSample field because the default value (1) given in the TIFF 6.0 specification is appropriate for this kind of file: It does in fact use one bit per sample. According to the spec (pages 21, 26) it is permitted to omit tags if their default value is appropriate.
What do you think? Are you maybe missing some edge case here?
