Willy Walko's Sci-Carnival

A cutesy science themed carnival featuring minigames and physics simulations

Prerequisites

Computer browser game only.

(To play locally)

You'll need Node.js, npm, and Parcel installed.

It is highly recommended to use Node Version Manager (nvm) to install Node.js and npm.

For Windows users there is Node Version Manager for Windows.

Install Node.js and npm with nvm:

nvm install node

nvm use node

Replace 'node' with 'latest' for nvm-windows.

Then install Parcel:

npm install -g parcel-bundler

Getting Started

Clone this repository to your local machine:

git clone https://github.com/ebeohp/DDT2.git

This will create a folder named phaser3-parcel-template. You can specify a different folder name like this:

git clone https://github.com/ebeohp/DDT2.git my-folder-name

Go into your new project folder and install dependencies:

cd phaser3-parcel-template # or 'my-folder-name'
npm install

Start development server:

npm run start

Then go to specified address from terminal.

How to Play

How to Play: -Use WASD to explore the carnival scene. To enter minigames, click on the booths. Click on the thinking emojis to get cool science facts.

To play Legend of Phil Helios: -Phil is a sunflower in love with the sun. Use left and right cursors keys to help Phil land on the clouds. Collect aquaporin, chloroplast, and starch powerups.

To play Microship: -Aim with your mouse pointer and fire away at cell invaders by clicking. Microship must repair damaged organelles. To heal an organelle, click on it. Then, drag-and-drop the correct organelle name that performs its function!

To play Chem Trivia: -The mango's name is Ngango (Courtesy of Coleman's 5th period AP Chem). He presents to you three levels of Chemistry trivia questions. Select a level by clicking. Then, answer each trivia question. Challenging? The game enters "Learning Mode" for you to scour the internet and find resources.

To play Bohr's Bounty: -Best played after visiting the Bohr model structure to learn about the elements. Aim the dart with left and right cursors. To launch, hit the spacebar.
