Some time ago libtaxii added optional argument to its generate_message_id() function (https://github.com/TAXIIProject/libtaxii/blob/master/libtaxii/common.py#L82) that forces the function to create better IDs (uuid4) for TAXII 1.1 messages. OpenTAXII needs to use that feature.
