Leda Quickstart image should have zeroconf setup pre-installed for easier network setup and discovery.

Most Linux distros preinstall Avahi and it would be a good fit for Leda as well.
Avahi daemon can be configured which services should be announced.

Wishes / Potential use cases:

  • Device discovery (e.g. Announcement of hostname, IP address)
  • Service discovery (e.g. SSH)
  • Leda Quickstart Services (e.g. NodeRed as container publishes a WebServer)
  • Vehicle Service discovery (e.g. Kuksa.VAL Databroker)

Implemented:

  • Device discovery (e.g. Announcement of hostname, IP address)
  • Service discovery (e.g. SSH, MQTT)

Not yet implemented:

  • Service discovery for services provided by containers, e.g. Kuksa.VAL Databroker, Node-Red dashboard etc.
