Error when using API to create protected room with tabs

When using the API at /api/room/new, the secret doesn't appear to be checked when creating tabs in a protected room:

{'meeting': '...',
 'protected': True,
 'secret': '...',
 'tabs': [{...}, ...],
 'title': '...'}

Error: Need meeting secret to modify tab in protected room ... [tabCheckSecret.protected]

if 'protected': False, then everything works as expected.
