A logged-in user found a course he would like to participate and clicks on the apply button in the view with the course description to start the application (the behavior for a user that is not logged in is described in a later ticket).
The application itself consists of a motivation letter that the applicant must submit.
After submission of the application the apply button in the course description disappears and a message showing the application status is shown.

By clicking on the apply button a popup opens containing a short instruction text and an input text field for the motivation letter which he must submit. The design of the popup is as follows:
a new entry in the enrollment table is generated for this course, the motivation letter is stored in the corresponding field of the new entry and its status field is changed to applicant
Further, with submission the popup closes, and the focus gets back to the course description. In the course description the apply button is now replaced with a status message according to the following design:
