I'm having the same problem after forked-daapd v. 26 had been working flawlessly on ubuntu 16.04. I tried booting with different kernels, 4.15.0-13-generic, 4.48, etc but no luck. I'm looking for help since I haven't been able to figure this out on my own after a few days of dealing with it. Help?

Can you provide a way of reproducing the error you observe in Debian Buster? If so then please open a new issue on that. I just tried (with the version of forked-daapd from the Debian repo, so 26.4+dfsg1-1) and it seemed ok, but I just made a pretty minimal test.
