@restrry I think this is related to the custom / default route separation more than with the basePath, as the But this check is indeed the cause mounter.appBasePath.startsWith('/app')We should probably remove the 'default' route kibana/src/core/public/application/ui/app_router.tsx Lines 76 to 77 in 4cb9bc4 and have every app routes handled the same way the custom route are. |

For some small plugins adding a client-side routing might be an overhead since they have only a couple of views. But they cannot use
appRoute: /app/{name}/somethingsince this check breaks the routing when no basePath defined (start server with--no-base-path)kibana/src/core/public/application/ui/app_router.tsx
