Kibana version: 7.5.2

Elasticsearch version: 7.5.2

Server OS version:

Browser version: Chrome, Safari, Firefox

Description of the problem including expected versus actual behavior:
Bug 1: When restoring a snapshot and monitoring the progress through the Snapshot and Restore feature, Kibana is reporting the restore as Complete when there are still shards that are restoring.
image
Bug 2:
If there are more than ~20 shards, there should be the ability to scroll through the progress of every shard. Currently the UI just locks the view for each index restore to ~20 shards.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Restore a snapshot of ~100 shards, with a total size of ~5TB
  2. Wait for some time
  3. Kibana will show the status as complete, but there will still be shards recovering

Hi @lanerjo! Thanks for reporting this and sorry for the long delay to respond.

Bug 1: When restoring a snapshot and monitoring the progress through the Snapshot and Restore feature, Kibana is reporting the restore as Complete when there are still shards that are restoring.

👍 There does appear to be some strange behavior happening here. We will look into it.

Bug 2:
If there are more than ~20 shards, there should be the ability to scroll through the progress of every shard. Currently the UI just locks the view for each index restore to ~20 shards.

I'm not able to reproduce this one 100%. The restore status is polled. You can change the interval via the dropdown above the table.

I did notice while testing a snapshot with 50 shards that only ~8 appeared initially, but as the status was refreshed eventually all shards were displayed. Can you confirm this is the case for you, or are you still having trouble viewing all shards?
