There are five ninja masters, one for each of the five elements: earth, fire, air, water, and void. The ninja masters give you tools and teach you advanced techniques that are essential for completing your missions.

Earth Master (Sumo Wrestler)

The earth master is a sumo wrestler (rishiki) of Ainu origin from northern Hokkaido. He teaches you the brace, ledge grab, ledge jump, and stomp techniques.

Fire Master (Ronin)

The fire master is a masterless samurai (ronin) from Kyushu. He has extensive burn scars. He is armed with two swords (daisho). He gives you tiger claws (tekagi-shuko), smoke bombs, and explosives. He teaches you the wall slide and wall jump techniques.

Air Master (Consort)

The air master is a consort or courtesan, similar to an oiran or geisha, of unknown origin. She gives you an iron fan (tessen) and throwing stars (shuriken). She teaches you the deflect, glide, and double jump techniques.

Water Master (Pearl Diver)

The water master is a pearl diver (uminchu) from Okinawa. She is armed with two pronged truncheons (sai). She gives you an air skin and a grappling hook. She teaches you the dive and wall run techniques.

Void Master (Fuke Monk)

The void master is a monk of the Fuke sect (komuso). He gives you a straw basket (tengai) and a bamboo flute (shakuhachi). He teaches you the disguise and split techniques.
