Steps to reproduce

  1. Configure Element to automatically open on startup
  2. Log in to your e.g. Gnome session
  3. Close your session and quickly log back in (e.g. if a log out was required to update extensions)

Outcome

What did you expect?

Element starts loading

What happened instead?

A message appears telling me that Element is open in another tab, and that I need to close said tab (which doesn't exist) and click "Continue". Doing nothing except clicking "Continue" makes the message disappear and Element starts loading.

This is basically a repeat of element-hq/element-web#26165 / element-hq/element-web#26192, which was apparently linked to an issue with Firefox, except I've just had it happen with the desktop Electron-based app.
