I just restarted my matrix server and the activity seemed to reset the icon background back to transparent. Restarting riot brought the background back to white. How the issue behaves seems similar to element-hq/element-web#9897

I have the same issue since 1.2.0, it's present on 1.2.2 too.

One other thing I've noticed, hovering over the status icon now says "electron" instead of "Riot" for the application name. The menu still shows "Show/Hide Riot" and "Quit" options.

This isn't happening anymore for me. Idk when this got fixed but trying to think back I don't think I've seen this issue for at least 2 years. I think it can be closed @t3chguy.
