Edited message does not show up as edited anymore

Steps to reproduce

Unsure how to reproduce. This is an incomplete list of what happened.

0. We're chatting in an encrypted room with 16 members.
1. Another person posted a message.
2. The person edited their message three times on the same day.
3. I reacted to one of the edited messages.
4. On the next day, I scroll up to the message.

Outcome

What did you expect?

I see the most recent edit in chat history.
It has my reaction.

What happened instead?

I see the original unedited message.
It has my reaction, which to me only makes sense in regards to the edited content.

I had something similar happen with Nightly.

I edited a message, but after editing the content shown had not changed. I tried switching rooms back and forth, still no update. Showing hidden events, I could see the edit in the timeline. I then quit Element and updated to the newest Element Nightly version: 2023010301. Finally the edit is shown correctly.

Experiencing the same problem here, and can verify that clearing the client cache seems to resolve the issue. But then it comes back the next day. Happening to us outside of threads as well.
